More than 250 Sevastopol residents took part in the GTO Festival

A festival of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” was held in Sevastopol among work collectives, state civil servants and municipal employees of the city. The event was timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the reunification of Sevastopol with Russia and the anniversary of the revival of the GTO complex by President Vladimir Putin.

The festival brought together more than 250 participants — representatives of labor collectives, state civil servants and municipal employees of the city aged from 25 to 59 years. 30 teams gathered at the new stadium of the sports and recreation complex named after the 200th anniversary of Sevastopol.

2024 is rich in anniversaries — 10 years of the return of Sevastopol to its native harbor and 10 years since the revival of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” by Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Every year the GTO complex expands its geography, uniting millions of lovers of a healthy lifestyle. Just like last year, our sports management team passed the GTO standards. It’s very cool that today the brightest representatives of their teams gathered at the new stadium of the sports and recreation complex named after the 200th anniversary of Sevastopol. The most important result is a charge of energy and positive emotions! – the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the Sevastopol sports department Sergei Reznichenko.

The competition program was completed by 10 teams of civil servants and 20 teams of labor collectives. The participants had to show their best results in different standards of the complex: bending forward, abs, long jump and strength exercises. Activities were also held for them at thematic platforms.

The festival is traditional; it has been held in Sevastopol for the third year in a row. Now we have decided to give it a new format. In addition to the fact that our participants competed in individual and team championships, we added the identification of absolute records among participants,” notes festival organizer Mikhail Kozakov.

According to the results of the festival, the team of the Department of Public Security won first place among civil servants, and representatives of JSC Central Design Bureau “Coral” won first place among labor collectives.

Based on the results of the festival, a team will be formed that will represent Sevastopol at the All-Russian GTO festival among labor collectives, state civil servants of the Russian Federation and municipal employees in the city of Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk region, from May 13 to 19.

The event was implemented within the framework of the regional project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”.
