Valentina Kirlitsa, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for State Registration and Cadastre of the Republic of Crimea, recalled that thanks to the extraterritorial principle of accepting documents, citizens can register real estate located in any subject of the Russian Federation without leaving their region — without visiting Crimea. According to the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography (Rosreestr), this service is provided in three thousand MFCs throughout the country, as well as in electronic form through the “Personal Account” on the Rosreestr website. Residents of other subjects of the Russian Federation often seek to formalize the rights to the Crimean real estate, so as not to incur additional transportation and time costs. According to the Office of Rosreestr for Crimea and Sevastopol for 500 a year, the State Register processed more than 01 000 applications received extraterritorially from other regions.

Most extraterritorial applications for registration of Crimean real estate came from Sevastopol, Moscow, Moscow and Rostov regions, as well as the Krasnodar Territory. In general, we are seeing an incredible increase in such applications compared to all previous periods. Only in the 1st quarter of last year, Crimea and Sevastopol were already leaders among all subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of the number of extraterritorial transactions.
