Murderer sentenced in Sevastopol

State prosecutors from the prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol proved in court the guilt of a 63-year-old local resident of committing murder. The verdict was pronounced by the Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol based on the verdict of a panel of jurors, who came to the conclusion that the attacker was guilty and did not deserve leniency for the act committed. The man was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).

It was established that in October 2022, the attacker was drinking alcohol with his 69-year-old acquaintance in his apartment on the street. P. Silaeva. During the conflict that arose between them, the guest beat the owner of the home and cut his throat. After that, he fled the scene of the crime, throwing away the murder weapon. The investigation was carried out by the investigative department for the Leninsky district of the city of Sevastopol of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The defendant did not admit that he had committed premeditated murder, but the evidence collected during the investigation and presented by state prosecutors confirmed his guilt. The man was sentenced to 9 years and 6 months of imprisonment to be served in a high-security penal colony.
