Now there is a law providing for the formation of a register of debtors for alimony obligations

The head of state signed the Federal Law “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On Enforcement Proceedings”.

The Federal Law provides for the formation of a register of debtors for alimony obligations, which is an integral part of a data bank containing information necessary for the implementation of tasks for the enforcement of judicial acts, acts of other bodies and officials, which is created and maintained, including in electronic form, by the Federal Service bailiffs.

According to the Federal Law, the register of debtors for alimony obligations includes information about debtors for alimony obligations brought to administrative and (or) criminal liability for failure to pay funds for the maintenance of minor children or disabled children who have reached the age of eighteen, or disabled parents and (or) declared by the court wanted by bailiff.

The federal law establishes that information on enforcement proceedings, the debtors for which are included in the register of debtors for alimony obligations, is publicly available until information about the debtor for alimony obligations is excluded from the specified register in connection with the full repayment of the debt or on other grounds established in accordance with the procedure creating and maintaining a data bank.

The federal law was adopted by the State Duma on May 6, 2024 and approved by the Federation Council on May 22, 2024.
