In the first quarter of 2023 in the banking sector of the region two counterfeit banknotes of the Bank of Russia, their face value is 5,000 rubles. During the same period last year, 31 counterfeit banknotes were detected in the hero city, including 9 foreign banknotes.
Do not hesitate to check the money for watermarks, security threads, microperforations when making calculations: security elements should be determined by touch, be visible through the light and visually change when the banknote is tilted or turned. If you already have a banknote and you are not sure that it is genuine, it is better to transfer it to a commercial bank for examination— recommends Yuri Solomennik, Deputy Head of the Sevastopol Branch of the Southern Main Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
