Officially: prices in Sevastopol were affected by rising transport costs and the weakening of the ruble

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Annual inflation in the hero city accelerated in September to 7.6%. Food products increased in price the most – up to 9.9%. Fruits and vegetables have become more expensive due to the fact that the cost of transporting them to the region has increased. The cost was also affected by the lack of warehouses for storage.

The rise in prices for meat, eggs, sausages and smoked meats has accelerated due to rising costs for livestock farmers. Against the backdrop of the weakening ruble, they spent money on purchasing foreign feed and servicing imported equipment.

The rise in prices for gasoline and diesel fuel affected the cost of a number of goods, including clothing. But construction materials and car tires have increased in price due to the weakening of the ruble — imported components have become more expensive.

The annual growth rate of prices for services in September in Sevastopol decreased due to trends in the tourism sector — there were more long-distance train flights to the region, and tickets became cheaper in annual terms.

In Russia as a whole, inflation amounted to 6% in September. Taking into account the Bank of Russia’s monetary policy, annual inflation will return to 4% in 2024 and will remain close to 4% thereafter.
