On the day of memory and mourning in Crimea, the results of the patriotic action “Victory Landing of the Russian North Ossetia” were summed up
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Day of Remembrance and Sorrow is an important date for our country. This year, student groups and labor groups of teenagers of the Republic of Crimea organized the patriotic action “Victory Landing of the RSO”, aimed at cleaning, repairing and improving monuments and mass graves of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The action covered 26 settlements in 20 municipalities of the Republic of Crimea, and 24 groups with a total of 630 students and schoolchildren took part in it. A consolidated detachment “Eltigen” was also formed, which united students from the Volgograd, Zaporozhye, Kherson regions, Krasnodar and Perm territories and the Republic of Tatarstan.
This year, fighters of Russian student detachments in Crimea carried out work to clean and improve 64 monuments and memorial signs, as well as 41 mass graves of the Great Patriotic War. Volunteers cleaned the areas of two military cemeteries, nine public gardens and parks, and conducted 68 “lessons of courage,” in which 1,512 schoolchildren from the Republic of Crimea took part. In honor of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Crimea from the fascist invaders, 350 tree seedlings were planted to establish Memory Gardens.
These efforts show that the youth of Crimea are actively involved in preserving historical memory. We are proud that we can contribute to the restoration and improvement of memorial areas, as well as to instilling patriotism among young people. Our work helps not only preserve history, but also educate true patriots of our country. We hope that such initiatives will continue in the future, finding a response among the younger generation, — said Ekaterina Denesyuk, a specialist at the Crimean regional headquarters of Russian student groups.
