Paralympic swimmer Andrei Granichka — Honorary Citizen of the city of Sevastopol

Sevastopol swimmer Andrei Granichka was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the city of Sevastopol by the decision of the deputies of the Legislative Assembly on May 11. Athlete’s candidacy is noted «Sevastopol newspaper»during the meeting was presented by the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Vladimir Nemtsev.
Master of sports of international class since 2020, A. Granichka has been swimming for 12 years. In 2019, at the Russian Championships, he became a five-time champion, a four-time silver medalist, he is the world record holder in the 100-meter breaststroke. In 2020, the Sevastopol athlete won eight gold medals at the Russian Championships, at the XIV Paralympic Games in Tokyo he won a silver medal at a distance of 200 meters, and a gold medal at a distance of 100 meters breaststroke, setting a world record.
A. Granichka is also a multiple winner of the regional competition «Athlete of the Year» in Paralympic and Deaflympic sports, awarded the Certificate of Honor of the President of the Russian Federation for his merits in the development of physical culture and sports, for high sports achievements. In 2021, A. Granichka was awarded the Order of Friendship.
The athlete has repeatedly represented and glorified Sevastopol at international competitions.
The decision to award A. Granichka the title of Honorary Citizen of the city of Sevastopol was adopted unanimously.
