Phygital games take place in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The first games combining classical and digital sports have started within the walls of the new phygital center in Sevastopol. They will last until February 5th.
The Phygital Center is a sports ground in which a single harmonious space has been created for improving skills in both classical and digital sports. The center has physical activity zones with a football field, workout and streetball areas, as well as a digital space with a computer room, game consoles and VR gadgets.
Games are held in the following disciplines (program types): fidgetal Tactics (CS2 + Laser Tag) and fidgetal Strategy (Dota2 + Superfinal). Two pairs of teams play simultaneously — on computers, and another — in reality on a special site.
The teams are distributed evenly over several days so that we can conduct the competition conveniently and the participants do not experience unnecessary workload. Today we invited four counter-strike teams and two dota teams. These are all experienced participants in our eSports competitions. Most of them are members of the national computer sports team of the city of Sevastopol. That is, the digital part is as familiar to them as possible. They are, one might say, professionals at this.– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the President of the Sevastopol Physical Sports Federation Evgeniy Eremenko.
Young people over 18 years of age and permanent residents of Sevastopol take part in the competition. The team consists of five people.
I’ve been in teams since I was about 16 years old, now I’m 20. I actively participate in city tournaments, so far it seems to be going well. In the fall, literally, we took third place in Russia among universities in the “Battle for Science.” Once we played laser tag together with Dota 2, but now it has become much more organized. I think that we definitely have no competitors in Dota, but we’ll see in GTOnotes tournament participant Andrey Strelkov.
The winning team of the first phygital games will have the opportunity to be a spectator at the “Games of the Future”, which will be held from February 21 to March 3 in Kazan. The competition will bring together about 2,000 participants from more than 100 countries.
Let us remind you that this event is being implemented within the framework of the regional project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”.
