In Sevastopol, those accused of real estate fraud will appear in court.
An investigator from the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol completed a preliminary investigation of a criminal case initiated on the grounds of crimes under Articles 179, 159, 111 and 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against six local residents. According to investigators, the owner of a real estate agency, previously convicted of fraud, having many years of experience in the field of real estate services, created and headed a criminal group— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
He involved previously convicted citizens who led an antisocial lifestyle in illegal activities. The leader of the group looked for apartments with several owners who were engaged in disputes related to the disposal of living space, and acquired ownership of a small part of the apartment from one of them. Having received the opportunity to dispose of it, he forced the owners to sell him their shares at a low price or to buy back the living space he owned at a price significantly higher than the market price. In case of refusal, marginalized people moved into the apartment, drank alcohol there and created unbearable conditions for the other residents.
As the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, said, over five years, accomplices, threatening to damage and destroy property, and in one case, intentionally causing grievous harm to human health, forced 15 apartment owners to carry out transactions. The fact of fraud with a land plot was also established, as a result of which the owner suffered material damage in the amount of 1.5 million rubles.
Criminal activity was stopped by criminal investigation officers. During a search at the residence address of the group leader, synthetic drugs were seized.
At the request of the investigation, the court seized four apartments belonging to the defendants. Currently, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been transferred to the Gagarinsky District Court of the city of Sevastopol for consideration on the merits— said Irina Volk.
