Sergey Aksyonov: “Crimean athletes should have the opportunity to confirm their skills on alternative sites”

The Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, took part in the reporting and election conference of the Regional Public Organization for the Promotion of the Olympic Movement “Olympic Council of the Republic of Crimea”.

The primary task of the council, which is being successfully carried out, is to protect the rights of our athletes in matters of participation in international competitions. Now, when our athletes are being discriminated against under sanctions, it is especially important to unite to support them and provide them with the opportunity to confirm their skills on alternative platforms– the press service quotes the Head of Crimea.

Sergei Aksyonov noted that Crimeans perform well in all sports, so all conditions must be created for them.

The issue of providing for our athletes is under the control of the authorities“, assured the Head of the Republic.

According to Sergei Aksenov, members of the council are not indifferent to the fate of athletes and help Crimean sports move forward and overcome international barriers.

Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, President of the Regional Public Organization for Promotion of the Olympic Movement “Olympic Council of the Republic of Crimea” Evgeniy Mikhailov also addressed those present.

During the conference, elections for the president of the organization took place — Evgeniy Mikhailov was re-elected to the position.

The event was attended by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Crimea Olga Torubarova, representatives of sports federations, and others.

REFERENCE. The Olympic Council of the Republic of Crimea is part of the Russian Olympic Committee. The Council unites into one large system more than 37 sports federations accredited by the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Crimea, which have received the exclusive right to develop their Olympic sport on the territory of the republic.
