Sergey Aksyonov: “Today the capital of Crimea turns 240 years old”

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Congratulations from the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov on the occasion of the City Day of Simferopol.

“…The regional city of Simferopol is to be built. This name means a city of usefulness, and therefore the coat of arms is a beehive with bees with the inscription “Useful” at the top. These are lines from a note from Grigory Potemkin to Catherine the Great, written in 1784.

Today the capital of Crimea turns 240 years old.

During this time, Simferopol experienced many events, both joyful and tragic. But it has always remained a gathering city, a “city of benefit,” whose history is inextricably linked with the history of Russia.

Today Simferopol is the main economic, logistics, industrial, cultural and scientific center of Crimea. In the ten years that have passed since the long-awaited Reunification with the Motherland, it has transformed and blossomed. This is the result of labor and the merit of all citizens — people of different nationalities, each of whom contributes to our common future.

I sincerely congratulate the residents and guests of Simferopol on City Day! I wish all my fellow countrymen health, prosperity and new successes, and prosperity to our capital! – says the congratulations from the Head of Crimea.
