Sevastopol authorities and clergy reminded how the feast of the Epiphany will be held

Festive events for the day of the Epiphany in Sevastopol began January. Services and prayers for the blessing of water are already being held in Orthodox churches. The list of temples can be found at link. Also, traditional Epiphany bathing will be held in the city. They are organized in specially designated places:
— on the territory of the Tauric Chersonese Museum-Reserve — from 7:00 to 20: 00 19 January;
— in the area of berth No. 22 in the Cossack Bay — from 20: 00 January and from 9: 19 January;
— in the area of the Radiogorka pier — from 9: 19 January;
– on the territory of Omega Beach – from 9: 19 January;
— on the territory of the beach «City» in Balaklava — from 9: 19 January;
— on the territory of the beach «Crystal» — from : 00 January to 00: 19 January;
— on the embankment of the garrison beach in Kach — from : 00 January to 00: 19 January.
FROM 18: 00 18 January to 11: 19 January, the search and rescue units of the Center for Civil Protection of Sevastopol will switch to an enhanced mode of operation in the areas of responsibility. In addition, medical workers will be on duty in places where people bathe.
In connection with the holding of festive events from 6: to 19: 00 11 January traffic will be restricted along Ancient Street from the intersection with Eroshenko and Dmitry Ulyanov Streets to the Tauric Chersonese Museum-Reserve «. The restrictions will not apply to public transport and cars of the museum-reserve employees.
Also, a temporary traffic restriction is introduced on Mikhailovskaya Street from house No. 62 A and on Gromova Street until the intersection of these streets with 11: 00 until the end of events 19 January. The restrictions will not affect public transport and vehicles owned by persons residing in the zone of the imposed restrictions.

Those who plan to take part in Epiphany bathing should take a large terry towel to rub themselves after leaving the water and avoid hypothermia. It is also recommended to have a dry change of clothes that you can quickly put on, a hat, hot tea in a thermos.
Recall that swimming in the winter can be dangerous for people with chronic inflammatory diseases, primarily the nasopharynx (otitis, sinusitis), chronic bronchopulmonary, cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the central nervous system. It is also undesirable to go into ice water for people with osteoarthritis, with often recurrent osteochondrosis of the spine.
