Sevastopol police warn: cases of fraud are being registered under the pretext of making money on investment platforms
The Sevastopol police say: on the Internet, a 77-year-old man discovered a brokerage site on which he was offered to profitably invest his savings.
Having assessed the tempting offer, the pensioner left his details in the application form, and after a while a stranger called him, introduced himself as a broker and convinced him to transfer funds to the accounts he specified. For almost two months, the man followed the scammer’s instructions and during this time transferred him 706 thousand rubles. When the fake broker stopped communicating, the victim realized that he had become a victim of a scammer and filed a complaint with the police. Currently, investigators are taking all necessary measures aimed at finding the criminal.,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
Dear citizens! Be reasonable and vigilant, do not trust strangers offering quick and guaranteed enrichment that requires investing large sums of money. If you receive a call from an unknown person who introduces himself as a stock broker and offers to make money safely on an investment platform and earn income without much effort, end the call immediately — this is a scam. You can check whether the caller is a real broker and whether he has the appropriate license
If you have suffered from fraud or another crime, immediately contact the nearest territorial unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Sevastopol or report it by calling 102.
