Sevastopol: the city train will account for 14% of the total passenger traffic

Pavel Ieno, Director of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Sevastopol, announced the projected volume of traffic by a new type of public transport — a city train — 6.4 million passengers per year. The city electric train project, implemented by the Crimean Railway State Enterprise, has already been approved by the government of Sevastopol, P.Ieno said, reporting for the year of work to the deputies of the Legislative Assembly.

The concept of the city electric train project has been agreed upon. It provides for the organization of railway transport stops along the Kamyshovaya Bay route: 5th kilometer of the Balaklava highway — the First section of the Golden Beam — Sapungorsky — Inkerman — Zhidilova — Sevastopol-passenger. At the moment, design is underway, in which we take an active part , — quotes the head of the transport department «Sevastopolskaya Gazeta» .

According to him, on the route «Passenger Sevastopol» — «Kamyshovaya Bukhta» nine trains will run with an interval of 15 minutes, and on the section between the stations «Razezd «Sapungorsky» — «Zolotaya Balka» interval will be minutes. Complete work on the project must be completed before 2025 year.

According to the operational data of Krymstat, 47 million people were transported by all types of public transport in Sevastopol in 14 year. Thus, the planned volume of passenger transportation by city electric train on a city scale will be about %.
