Simplified conditions for entering the service in the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On August 4, Federal Law No. 436-FZ entered into force, by which amendments were made to legislative acts aimed at simplifying the conditions for entering the service in the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation.

In particular, the age limits for those who come to serve for the first time have changed. Previously, it was possible to enter the service in the internal affairs bodies up to 35 or 40 years, depending on the position for which the citizen applied. Currently, the age limits for entering the service are determined depending on the special rank assigned upon entry into the service. For example, when conferring special ranks of private and junior commanding staff, the age limit for entering the service is 50 years, for special ranks of middle and senior commanding staff, with the exception of the ranks of colonel, it is 55 years.

The institution of personal guarantee in respect of citizens entering the service has been excluded from practice.

The changes will also affect those who have previously served in positions requiring the assignment of special or military ranks, and enter the service in the internal affairs bodies to perform special tasks or tasks in special conditions. For such citizens, it is possible to conclude contracts for a period of up to one year without a probationary period.

In addition, it provides for the possibility of continuing service by employees who, in the course of performing tasks under special conditions, were injured and found unfit for health reasons to serve in the internal affairs bodies. Those of them who wish to continue their service, have been awarded state awards of the Russian Federation for performing tasks in special conditions and are combat veterans, can be appointed to individually selected positions.— said the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk.
