In the park of the 60th anniversary of the USSR, older citizens and people with disabilities took part in a sports marathon. The event was held as part of the implementation of the regional project «Older Generation» of the national project «Demography».
The main goals of organizing circle and club work are to involve older people in an active social life, improve their quality of life, maintain their psychological and physical status, provide opportunities for communication, exchange of information, develop creative abilities, create opportunities for self-expression and association in interest groups.— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the first deputy director of the department of social protection of the population Elena Bardakova.
A total of 11 people took part in the marathon. Prize-winning places were distributed as follows: the victory went to Marina Mikhailovna Ivanenko, the second place was taken by Vera Fedorovna Vedenko, the third — by Grigory Grigoryevich Manin.

As the director of the Sevastopol city complex center of social services Lyubov Yaskunova notes, this year the marathon is held for the first time. The plans are to organize it annually, attracting the largest number of participants.
