Student youth of the Crimea is working as part of the youth labor landing
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Simferopol, as part of the Victory Landing Forces patriotic action, students from leading universities of the Republic of Crimea worked at the Military Cemetery.
During the occupation of the city of Simferopol, prisoners of war tortured by the Nazis in camps and prisons, as well as underground workers and partisans, were buried on the territory of the cemetery along Starozenitnaya Street. Soviet soldiers of the 51st and Primorye armies, sailors of the Black Sea Fleet who died in 1941 during the defense of Crimea, Soviet soldiers of the 19th Tank Corps, 51st, 2nd Guards and Separate Primorsky Army, who died in 1944 during the liberation of the Crimea from the Nazi invaders, as well as those who died of wounds in Simferopol hospitals in 1944-1945.
The soldiers of the Landing Force cleaned the territory from domestic and natural debris, ivy sprouted, which destroys the tombstones, and other vegetation that covered the graves of the soldiers. As a result, all burials were put in order, which were covered with bushes, trees and ivy.
Our work is designed to preserve the memory of those war years. We clear gravestones and bring them to the proper form. So that everyone can come and remember the heroes. Cleaning in the cemetery where our ancestors are buried, who gave their lives and health during the Great Patriotic War, this is the least we can do to repay the debt to the past, to the heroes, soldiers and officers, — says Alexander Shelupin, a fighter of the Victory Landing Force «Cranes».
