Suspect of illegal possession of firearms detained in Alushta

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Alushta, criminal investigation officers, together with colleagues from the regional FSB directorate, with the force support of a special unit of the Russian Guard, as part of operational preventive measures, revealed the fact of illegal possession of weapons by a resident of one of the villages in the region.

As a result of a search, an object structurally similar to a pistol, equipped with a magazine with eight cartridges, was seized from a previously convicted 40-year-old native of one of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The seized items were stored under a bed mattress in the living room of a private household.

Items found at the suspect’s place of residence were sent for examination. Based on the results of the examination, it was established that the seized weapon is a rifled, single-barreled, breech-loading, self-loading firearm — a pistol, and 8 seized cartridges are intended for use in rifled firearms— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
