«Tavrida.ART» opened the academic year together with the school in Sudak

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On September 1, the artists «Tavrida.ART» (a project of Rosmolodezh) together with students of the secondary school No. Hero of the Soviet Union V. L. Savelyev in the Crimean city of Sudak was presented with the flag of Russia, made from handprints of schoolchildren on one of the walls of an educational institution. After the official part of the opening of the new academic year in the secondary school No. 4 in the city of Sudak, the artists of Tavrida.ART, together with the students, created a mural on one of the walls of the school. So, from the handprints of schoolchildren, the flag of Russia appeared at the assembly hall, which will symbolize everyone’s involvement in a large country.

In the short time of our friendship with the school, we have already managed to do several common projects. We are glad that the children are ready to participate in the transformations, they themselves offer ideas, learn with curiosity from our artists and paint the walls with pleasure. Very soon these schoolchildren will grow up and become those who will continue to do an important job — to write the cultural code of our country. And now they are decorating the spaces that surround them, this is a good start for the future.— says the head of the art cluster «Tavrida.ART» Sergey Pershin.

This was not the first time that a master class on creating murals for school walls was held. By the first of September, the artists of Tavrida.ART, together with the Movement of the First, had decorated more than 20 surfaces. Schoolchildren took an active part in painting the walls. This not only introduced children to creativity, but also made it possible to get acquainted in practice with all the stages of creating murals: from the layout to the artistic embodiment.

Children got a completely new understanding of history, saw the embodiment of their heroes on the walls of the school. They themselves wanted this, voted for who to portray — and everything went in the best possible way. During this time, together with Tavrida.ART, we held many master classes, participated in an art procession, held various joint events, and we also have a lot of plans for the near future, — Yulia Sobko, director of the school, commented on the creative collaboration with the art cluster.

The walls of the Sudak school are decorated with portraits of prominent historical figures: the legendary Soviet goalkeeper Lev Yashin, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, poet Alexander Pushkin, ballerina Anna Pavlova, artist Ilya Repin. In addition, the artists portrayed the Legend of Taurida, conductor Yuri Bashmet.

Also, one of the walls is dedicated to the Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Savelyev, after whom the school is named. In 1944, tanker Vasily Savelyev fought heroically, participating in the liberation of Sudak from Nazi invaders.

I also took part in the creation of murals, in particular the portrait of Vasily Lvovich Savelyev, Hero of the Soviet Union. Since I am fond of studying the culture and history of our country, it was important for me to leave some piece of myself. I believe that children should know the history of their region and their country. I really look forward to when I grow up and be able to take part in youth movements. It’s great that in our country there are such opportunities where everyone can prove themselves., — notes 9-grader Valeria Petrova.

By the beginning of the year, Tavrida.ART also decorated the facade of the school: they depicted a golden fish from the fairy tale of the writer A. S. Pushkin as a symbol of the fulfillment of any desires. And such a place, according to the author’s idea, is a school in the sea town of Sudak, where children feel like a fish in water. The creator of the mural is a street artist and public figure Dmitry Lyovochkin, ideologist, organizer and producer of the international festival «Cultural Code».

In addition, now schoolchildren of different ages can get acquainted with the possibilities of other partners. So, on the walls next to the murals there are QR codes, following which, children can read information about the prospects for the younger generation from Rosmolodezh, the Movement of the First, the Dobro.ru platform, ANO Russia is a Land of Opportunities, the Knowledge Society , the All-Russian competition «The Big Change», the program «More than a Journey», the program «Eaglets of Russia», the All-Russian competition «Navigators of Childhood», the voluntary Russian youth movement «Yunarmiya».

On the eve of the start of the school year, School No. 4 in Sudak was visited by First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) Ksenia Razuvaeva, Chairman of the Board of the Movement of the First Grigory Gurov and General Director of ANO » Center for the Development of Cultural Initiatives, Sergey Pershin, head of the Tavrida.ART art cluster.

As part of the cooperation between the school and the Tavrida.ART art cluster, children also regularly attend master classes in various creative and scientific areas on the territory of the youth and educational resort. Among other things, Tavrida.ART purchased equipment for the school’s media studio, where students now master creative professions.
