The events dedicated to the 163 anniversary of the birth of Anton Chekhov were held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.
The celebration began in Primorsky Park, where employees of the Crimean Literary and Artistic Memorial Museum-Reserve, as well as residents and guests of the city, laid flowers at the monument to the classic. Flowers were also presented to the bust located on the territory of the White Dacha. In the memorial garden of the House-Museum of A.P. Chekhov, a plein air was held by students of the Yalta Center for Children and Youth Technical Creativity, and a vernissage of children’s drawing was held in the building of the literary exposition. The event ended with a gala concert by the laureate of international competitions Anna Kovaleva, who performed her favorite works of the classic , the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Crimea notes.
In addition, festive events that day were held in other departments of the museum complex. So, at the dacha of A.P. Chekhov and O.L. Knipper in Gurzuf, a thematic lecture was held for the guests, and in the museum «Chekhov and Crimea», located at the famous dacha «Omyur», pupils of the theater studio «Cherry Orchard» held a stage reading of works great writer.
