The all-Russian campaign “Remain a Donor” took place in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Crimean youth took part in the all-Russian action of the Popular Front “Remain a Donor”. Students and college students donated blood and also entered the bone marrow donor registry. Donated blood components have a limited shelf life. For red blood cells, the shelf life is 5 weeks, and for platelets — only 5 days. The success of doctors’ continuous fight against a number of diseases depends on the regularity of testing.
Voluntary and regular donation of blood and its components annually saves the lives of thousands of patients in hospitals in the Republic of Crimea. This time, the guys not only donated blood, but also entered the bone marrow donor register, which is especially important. Many thanks to the students of the Crimean colleges of catering and trade for their active participation in this competition. We have been regularly holding this event in Crimea for the past 3 years to attract people’s attention and popularize the donation movement— the press service of the coordinator of the Popular Front Youth in Crimea, Alexander Kardanov, quotes.
The “Remain a Donor” campaign across the country this time helped to collect more than 100 liters of blood, giving a chance to life to everyone who needs help.
