The commissioning of the Foton electrical substation in Simferopol will provide another incentive for the development of the city
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The reconstruction of another high-voltage substation in Crimea has been completed. As Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin said, the Foton energy center in Simferopol has been put into operation in an updated form.
In less than two years, specialists reconstructed one of the key energy facilities in Simferopol. As a result of modernization and replacement of transformers and other equipment, the substation’s capacity increased almost threefold. This allows not only to provide residents with a stable power supply, but also to connect additional subscribers. This means there are opportunities to launch new projects, develop nearby areas, and improve the quality of the urban environment.
I would like to note that the work was carried out with the assistance of an infrastructure budget loan. With the help of this mechanism, the reconstruction of two large substations had already been completed — “Severnaya” in Simferopol and “Moinaki” in Evpatoria. We will continue our work on modernizing the energy sector of Crimea. The region is actively developing, and we must provide the proper level of infrastructure heresaid Marat Khusnullin.
The modernization of the Foton substation began in July 2022 and was carried out in stages. During the reconstruction process, specialists from the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea «Krymenergo» replaced two power transformers with a capacity of 15 MVA and 25 MVA with two — with a capacity of 63 MVA each. In addition, modern current-limiting reactors, a 110 kV gas-insulated switchgear, and relay protection and emergency automation were installed.
The updated power facility has full remote control. The operator of the infrastructure budget loan program is the Territorial Development Fund. According to the General Director of the FRT, Ilshat Shagiakhmetov, the Foton substation will fully supply the new developing microdistrict of Simferopol “Zavodskoye” with electricity.
It is planned to build houses with a living area of 300 thousand square meters. meters, three secondary schools, six kindergartens, a sports complex and cultural institutions. And in this sense, the IBC mechanism becomes a catalyst for positive changes that will occur in the city in the near future. Since 2022, 145 housing and communal infrastructure facilities have been put into operation using infrastructure budget loans, and over 90 more facilities are planned this year— said the head of the Foundation.
The IBC mechanism is part of the Government’s socio-economic initiative “Infrastructure Menu”.
