The Crimean parliament has begun forming a new composition of the republican Election Commission

At its tenth session, the Crimean Parliament adopted a resolution “On the formation of a new composition of the Election Commission of the Republic of Crimea.”

As noted by the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, the presented draft Resolution was developed in accordance with Russian legislation and in connection with the expiration of the term of office of the current Election Commission of the Republic of Crimea on May 20, 2024. He emphasized that according to the Law “On the Election of Deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea”, the Election Commission of the Republic of Crimea is formed by 14 voting members of the commission, of which half of the members of the Election Commission are appointed by the State Council, the other half by the Head of the Republic of Crimea.

This project proposes to announce the beginning of the formation and acceptance of proposals for the candidacies of 7 members of the Election Commission of the Republic of Crimea of ​​a new composition with voting rights, appointed by the State Council of the Republic of Crimeanoted Konstantinov.

The formation of the Election Commission is carried out on the basis of proposals from political parties that have nominated lists of candidates admitted to the distribution of deputy mandates in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, other political parties and other public associations, representative bodies of municipalities in the Republic of Crimea, the Election Commission of the Republic of Crimea of ​​the current composition, the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation shall be submitted to the State Council of the Republic of Crimea in the manner prescribed by Article 15 of the Law of the Republic of Crimea dated February 26, 2019 No. 572-ZRK/2019 “On elections of deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea.”
