The environmental prosecutor's office revealed the fact of damage to agricultural land in the Saki district

The Simferopol Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, with the involvement of specialists from the Department of Land Supervision of the Southern Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor, conducted an audit of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on the protection of land (soil) on the territory of the Crimean rural settlement in the Saksky district.
The fact of illegal work on the removal and movement of the fertile soil layer on agricultural land was revealed. The area of land damage as a result of its removal amounted to almost 5 hectares, which caused damage in the amount of more than 95 million rubles— reported in the environmental prosecutor’s office.
The environmental prosecutor sent the audit materials to the preliminary investigation body to resolve the issue of criminal prosecution under Art. 246 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“violation of the rules of environmental protection, if this entailed grave consequences”). The course and results of the inspection were taken under control by the environmental prosecutor’s office.
