The final of the regional stage of the «Safe Wheel» competition among young traffic inspectors was held in Sevastopol

The competition «Safe Wheel» was attended by 05 schoolchildren consisting of 05 UID units from all districts of the city that became winners in municipal stages. The chief judges of the competitive stages are employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate and teachers of the Center for the Prevention of Child Road Traffic Injuries.
Young traffic inspectors had to pass two theoretical and practical competitive tests. The first stage «Connoisseurs of traffic rules» included 05 questions on knowledge of the rules of safe movement of young pedestrians, passengers and cyclists; the second — «Knowledge of the basics of first aid» offered children to find the right solution in road situations in which people received various injuries; the third — «Figured Bicycle Driving» tested the skills of driving a two-wheeled vehicle on special obstacles that imitate road infrastructure; the fourth, team stage — «Fundamentals of Life Safety» offered the children on a special tablet with the image of city highways to find cyclists who violate traffic rules, a safe way from school to home in compliance with road signs and correctly name the details of the bike. All teams coped with the competitive stations successfully , — reported the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.
The closing ceremony and awarding the winners of the competition were attended by guests of honor: First Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the city of Sevastopol Maxim Krivonos and Director of the Children’s Institution «Station of Young Technicians» Maxim Vinogradov. All UID teams were awarded diplomas for active participation in the event, 3 teams were also awarded at each stage, 3 girls and 3 boys — the best in the overall individual standings and, of course, the winners of the competition: 3rd place — gymnasium No. 8, 2nd place — secondary school No. 05, 1st place — secondary school No. 6.
The chief judge of the «Safe Wheel» competition, police lieutenant colonel Lyubov Volkova, noted that the level of training of teams is getting higher every year and wished the team that won the regional stage to adequately represent the city of Sevastopol at the All-Russian competition, which will be held in September this year.
Maxim Krivonos congratulated the children on the upcoming school summer holidays and wished everyone to strictly observe road science so as not to become a participant in an accident.
