The first esports tournament «United Little Russia» will be held in Crimea in autumn

The first esports tournament «United Little Russia» with the participation of athletes from new regions of the Russian Federation will be held in the fall in the Crimea with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund. The final will be held in Simferopol on the Day of National Unity, said TASS President of the Crimean Computer Sports Federation Alexander Malov. The project of a series of e-sports tournaments «United Little Russia» became the winner of the second competition of the Presidential Grants Fund, it involves the involvement of at least 200 people in the competition, including from new regions of the Russian Federation.
The initiative to hold such a tournament came from the esports players themselves — we have more and more guys from among refugees and IDPs, many of them are quite successful in esports, some of them have become one of the best players for Crimea today. In addition, now, in the context of sanctions and a generally difficult geopolitical situation, it is important to consolidate all this in Russia, — says Alexander Malov.
According to him, the first tournament will be held in September, the venues for everyone will be organized in Simferopol, Evpatoria, Kerch, Yalta. Participation in the tournament is free:
The first tournament will take place in September. We expect that each team will include at least 60 percent of athletes from among refugees and IDPs, the age of participants is from 18 to 34 years. After several qualifying tournaments in two team disciplines, there will be a grand final in Simferopol on November 4, on the Day of National Unity.
The grant amounted to 497 thousand rubles, co-financing of the organizers — more than 1.1 million rubles. The grant funds will be used to rent equipment and related costs for the project, the organizers will form the prize fund on their own.
