In Simferopol, a man was convicted for reporting an alleged threat to infrastructure facilities.

In June 2023, the hotline received a call from an unknown person who informed the operator about an alleged threat to infrastructure facilities. Employees of the investigative task force went to the scene. As a result of the inspection, no dangerous objects were found.

Employees of the Center for Countering Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, together with colleagues from the regional FSB Directorate, as a result of operational search activities, identified and detained a 58-year-old resident of the Krasnogvardeisky district. The man admitted that he made the call deliberately for hooligan reasons.— the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea reported details.

The investigator of the OP No. 2 “Kievsky” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Simferopol initiated a criminal case against the citizen on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Knowingly false report of an impending explosion, creating a danger of death, causing significant property damage , or the occurrence of other socially dangerous consequences, committed out of hooligan motives in relation to social infrastructure facilities).

The court sentenced the man to three years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of two years.
