On Saturday, September 23, at 13.00 in the assembly hall of the Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library. I. Ya. Franko, as part of the All-Russian missionary procession dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the appearance of the Holy Cross near the village of Godenovo, the film “Russian Cross” will be shown, followed by a discussion.
The host of the event is the deputy head of the Synodal Missionary Department of the Russian Orthodox Church, priest Sergei Fufaev (Moscow).
“Russian Cross” is a full-length feature film based on the poem of the same name by Russian poet Nikolai Melnikov (1966 – 2006) directed by Eduard Boyakov. The main role was played by Mikhail Porechenkov. This is a story about repentance and spiritual revival of a simple man, Ivan Rostok, who reached the limit of his fall. The main character gains faith after the appearance of St. George to him and sets himself the task of restoring a village temple destroyed in Soviet times.
