The problem of water supply in Yevpatoria is being solved … in the courts

This year in Evpatoria the problem with water supply has become aggravated. Accidents on the main water pipeline — one after another (about this HERE And HERE). Not only local authorities and “Water of Crimea”, but also the prosecutor’s office are investigating the situation.

The prosecutor’s office of Yevpatoriya in connection with the accidents on the main water pipeline conducted an audit of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on water supply and sanitation.

The wear of water supply pipes is more than 90 percent, as a result of which accidents have become more frequent, resulting in the disconnection of the city’s population from water supply. At the same time, the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea «Water of Crimea» did not take measures for the overhaul and current repair of the pipelinethe prosecutor’s office said.

In view of the identified violations, the city prosecutor filed a lawsuit in court to oblige the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea “Water of Crimea” to carry out a major overhaul of the water conduit, and the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities of the Republic of Crimea to allocate funds for repair work.

Interestingly, the court of first instance in satisfaction of the claims … was denied. Disagreeing with this decision, the prosecutor appealed against it.

On appeal, the decision of the court of first instance was canceled, the statement of claim of the city prosecutor’s office was satisfiedthe prosecutor’s office said.

The execution of the court decision is controlled by the supervisory authority.
