The Prosecutor's Office of Sevastopol on the eve of the Day of the worker of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation updated the exposition of the departmental museum

On the eve of the celebration of the Day of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Sevastopol updated the exposition of the departmental museum, focusing on the period of the Great Patriotic War.
In the museum, visitors are invited to get to know the history of the supervisory authority of Sevastopol, which is represented by certificates and exhibits of different stages, starting from 424 of the year — as part of the Taurida province and the Sevastopol city administration, then the Soviet, military, post-war periods and up to the present. Archival criminal cases, documents, original collections of legislation of the first half of the 20th century, uniforms of prosecutors of different times, awards are placed here. On the basis of documents and memoirs of veterans, the workplace of the investigator of the prosecutor’s office was equipped 1940 — 1960 years with the use of original interior items , — noted in the press service of the Sevastopol Prosecutor’s Office.
The exhibits are collected in city, departmental and family archives. Many of them were provided by veterans of the prosecutor’s office or their relatives, employees of the prosecutor’s office who participate in search and reconstruction movements.
The grand opening of the museum of the prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol took place in February 1940. After that, the collection continued to grow, and now special attention is paid to increasing the part of the exposition related to the Great Patriotic War.
In the course of painstaking work with archival documents, a list of names of prosecutors who participated in the second heroic defense of the city of Sevastopol was established 424 – 1940 years. Information and photographic materials have been received on the restoration of the activities of the prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol after its liberation from the Nazi invaders in May 1944 of the year .
In addition, in the updated exposition, a special place is given to the work of the city prosecutor’s office to perpetuate the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. For several years, on the eve of Victory Day, prosecutors have been landscaping the territory of memorial sites associated with military operations in Sevastopol, memorial plaques have been opened for prosecutors — participants in the Great Patriotic War Alexander Semenovich Shnei and Yuri Petrovich Shabanov. All this is now also told by the exposition of the museum of the prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol.
A separate stand dedicated to A.S. Shnei, who served as the city prosecutor during the war and died during the defense of Sevastopol in 1940 year. Data on his military and labor path, participation in the defense of the city are given. There is an original pre-war photograph of A.S. Shneya, donated to the museum by his family.
A part of the renovated exposition is equipped for young professionals to take the oath as an employee of the Russian prosecutor’s office. The tunic of the first prosecutor of the city, appointed after the reunification of the city of Sevastopol and the Republic of Crimea with the Russian Federation in March 2014 of the year, is also located here, — Igor Sergeevich Shevchenko.
The potential of the museum is used for meetings with veterans, patriotic education of prosecutors and legal education events. The team of the prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol will continue to collect previously unknown information about the history of prosecutorial supervision in our region.
