The results of the regional competition “Teacher of the Year in Russia — 2024” were summed up in Sevastopol

The regional stage of the All-Russian competition of professional excellence “Russian Teacher of the Year – 2024” has ended in Sevastopol. Tests for the participants were held at school No. 58 with in-depth study of socio-economic disciplines named after Hero of the Soviet Union V.I. Kolyadin. This year, eight teachers took part in the competition: four primary school teachers from schools No. 6, 12, 43, 58, two teachers of Russian language and literature from schools No. 30, 45, one English teacher from school No. 37 and one history and social studies teacher from the gymnasium. No. 8.

During the correspondence stage, the contestants presented a video essay in which they depicted the most significant aspects of teaching activity, personal achievements and victories of students. Then there were three face-to-face tests: a lesson, a conversation with schoolchildren (discussion of socially significant topics) and a master class. During the lesson, the jury assessed professional competencies in the field of preparation and organization of the educational process and educational activities of students. During conversations with schoolchildren, socially significant topics were raised — here the professional and personal competencies of teachers in the field of education and socialization of students were assessed. The competition ended with a discussion “Modern challenges of education: problems, solutions and prospects.” Five teachers and… O. A professional competition for a teacher is always a challenge. All the competitors who participated showed best practices that can now be broadcast to other schools and this experience can be shared; we will definitely use it. The professional community evaluated the contestants according to certain criteria; there are certain requirements for conducting lessons and conducting master classes. And the jury, consisting of experienced teachers, assessed exactly this. The regional stage of the Russian Teacher of the Year competition is certainly important, because it allows us to collect the best practices. The competition promotes the professional growth of teachers. Every teacher at some point in time comes to the point that he is ready to move to a new level in teaching skills and is ready to share his experience. Based on the results of all tests, the winner of the regional stage of the All-Russian competition “Teacher of the Year in Russia — 2024” was Tatyana Lekhnovskaya, history and social studies teacher at gymnasium No. 8 named after N. T. Khrustalev.

I didn’t expect that I would be able to win such a serious competition; I had a lot of doubts. I became convinced that to participate in competitions, and in professional activities in general, a teacher must have an inner core, self-control, and perseverance. As part of the competitive tests, the teacher gave a lesson to 8th grade students on the topic “Annexation of Crimea and the Northern Black Sea Region”; a conversation with schoolchildren was devoted to high moral ideals, and a master class was devoted to the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process.
