The Sevastopol branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation celebrates its first anniversary
CrimeaPRESS reports:
June 1 marks one year since the opening of the Sevastopol branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland state fund. On the eve of this anniversary, a solemn meeting “The Year That Changed Life” was held at the Fleet Officers’ House. The event was attended by: Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Vladimir Nemtsev, Senator of the Federation Council Ekaterina Altabaeva, Deputy of the State Duma Tatyana Lobach, Deputy Governor Alexander Kulagin, employees of the branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation and social coordinators, veterans of a special military operation.
Mikhail Razvozhaev in his speech emphasized that the city authorities are working in close cooperation with the employees of the fund’s branch, trying to help as many people as possible.
The goal of the foundation is the most noble, the most sacred for us today: working with participants in a special military operation and their families. I am convinced that the key to the foundation’s success lies in the fact that the foundation’s Sevastopol team employs many people who directly encountered a special military operation, and in its most tragic and complex manifestations. These are people who have lost their loved ones, and they are fully involved in this work today. My special position is that the government of Sevastopol, all its employees, and deputy governors should always be in the fund. This is a place where we remove bureaucracy and help resolve all emerging issues. Our main general principle is that everyone who contacts the fund is heard, and that the fund’s employees and the entire vertical of power work with every question as if it were their own.— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the city.
Vladimir Nemtsev noted that the fund successfully solves many problems, from paperwork to receiving various payments.
Now the branch has become a center of attraction for all members of the SVO, for relatives. During this time, the center’s staff had to do a really huge amount of work. I know that this year you have received over 8,500 requests and more than a thousand people came to the fund with various questions. This includes receiving various payments, benefits, subsidies, free meals for the children of SVO participants, and processing documents that allow them to receive these support measures, assistance in finding work and employment, and assistance in obtaining rehabilitation means. It is important that not a single issue was left without considerationnotes the speaker of parliament.
Ekaterina Altabaeva expressed gratitude to the staff of the fund’s branch and social coordinators for their sensitive and attentive attitude towards the wards.
We have already talked more than once about the great and hard work the foundation does. I know that many of you work literally to the point of self-denial: when you help other people, you forget about yourself, your problems and troubles. And those who come to the fund always know that they can turn to them with any questions: they will always listen, provide psychological support and help solve problems. Thanks for your hard work. You can count on our support.
Tatyana Lobach also emphasized the coordinated work of all branches of government in interaction with the fund’s branch and resolving issues addressed by soldiers and their families.
The Foundation pays special attention to participants in special military operations and their families. In Sevastopol, a city that is essentially on the front line, work is progressing fruitfully. We must always remember that we can only win together. And the guys at the front can feel calm and go into battle when they know that any of their problems will be solved. Providing soldiers with a reliable rear is our joint work,” the State Duma deputy emphasizes.
The head of the Sevastopol branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, Elena Anisimova, noted that social coordinators constantly support their wards, and thanked government officials for their assistance in resolving pressing issues.
Soldiers and their families come to us with a variety of questions: paperwork, legal advice, assistance in undergoing sanatorium treatment, socialization, and memorial events. On average, there are about one hundred people per social coordinator—coordinators are in touch 24/7. And today I want to thank the foundation team and all government officials who support us, — says the head of the fund’s branch.
For reference:
On April 3, 2023, the President of Russia signed a Decree on the creation of the State Fund for Support of Participants in the Special Military Operation “Defenders of the Fatherland” — to provide assistance to the families of deceased participants in the special military operation and combat veterans.
The Sevastopol branch of the fund opened on May 31, 2023 on Karantinnaya Street, 45. Its main goal is personal social support for Northern Military District veterans and families of fallen soldiers, assisting them in obtaining all required support measures. Each of the questions asked is invariably associated with a specific life situation, into which social coordinators who have undergone appropriate training and are personally assigned to the Foundation’s wards are personally immersed. They provide assistance in preparing documents for receiving social support measures, and also work proactively with SVO participants and their families.
