The start of the health season in the camps of the Republic of Crimea

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On June 1, the health season begins in almost all children’s camps in Crimea. In fact, taking into account the climate and the region’s specialization in children’s health, this season goes on all year round, for example, at the Artek Children’s Medical Center. But seasonal classic children’s camps mostly begin their work from the first days of summer.

By June 1, students planning to work as counselors pass the exam ahead of schedule and go to work in children’s camps. Russian student teams provide active support in this work. Throughout the year, counselors were trained among the student teams, and there were on-site briefings that helped them immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the camps. Also on the basis of the Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky and Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University named after Fevzi Yakubov organized vocational training in the specialty “counselor”, within the framework of which students were able to obtain the necessary knowledge and certificates of professional training in accordance with the Professional Standard.

This year, the need for counselors is more than a thousand people at each shift in all camps in Crimea. And for the entire season it will exceed the level of five thousand counselors. Previously, visiting students from other regions of Russia played a significant role in this number of counselors. But at the moment we are faced with the fact that the children themselves, as well as the educational organizations where they study, and their parents are afraid to go to Crimea because of concerns about their safety related to the proximity of Crimea to the Northern Military District. Thus, the shortage of counselors has to be solved through the efforts of Crimean and Sevastopol students, as well as by attracting students from new regions to work as counselors. So, more than 60 counselors already work for us from the Zaporozhye region alone. It is important to qualitatively prepare students for responsible work. And so far Russian student teams have managed to do this. Crimean health camps are ready to welcome children from all over Russia, and our counselors will create an unforgettable experience for them. We pay special attention to accepting children from the Belgorod region: additional instructions were provided to counselors to ensure their comfort and safe rest,” notes Vladimir Kaidansky, head of the regional headquarters of the Crimean regional branch of the Russian North Ossetia.

Through the efforts of student teams of the Republic of Crimea, work is carried out in 13 children’s camps, uniting 259 counselors on only 1 shift, which makes it possible to cover a quarter of the necessary need for counselors in Crimea. This year the team of counselors includes both experienced specialists and students who will try themselves in this role for the first time. Experienced guys pass on their experience to the new generation of counselors and together create unforgettable experiences for children.

This season I am working as a cultural organizer at the Radiant children’s camp. We have prepared a varied and rich program of events aimed at the comprehensive development of children. Every day includes sports games, creative master classes and educational excursions. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of joy and friendship for children so that this summer becomes bright and memorable for them,” shared the commissar of the student teaching squad, Karina Gayanova.
