The Supreme Court of Crimea left the former head of the administration of Belogorsk in custody

CrimeaPRESS reports:

He didn’t even lose a day of imprisonment.

The Supreme Court of Crimea upheld the verdict against the former head of the administration of Belogorsk Igor Ipatko. Let us remind youthe official paid for a bribe of 2.5 million rubles and “earned” 9.5 years in a maximum security colony “plus” a fine of 5 million rubles.

In 2021, Ipatko, as the head of the administration of the city of Belogorsk, used his official position and received through an intermediary a bribe from an entrepreneur for a guaranteed victory in the auction and the conclusion of a lease agreement for a land plot owned by the municipality of the city of Belogorsk. The bribe in the amount of 1 million rubles was transferred to the official in parts through the intermediary K. Levchenko, who received another 500,000 rubles as payment for services for preparing the necessary documentation for participation in the auction,” they recalled in court.

The press service of the Supreme Court notes that later the entrepreneur turned to the head of the administration regarding the formation and issuance of an urban development plan for the leased land plot.

For assistance in issuing a town-planning plan for the specified land plot and solving, due to the capabilities of his position, all emerging issues when using the leased plot, I. Ipatko demanded that a bribe in the form of money in the amount of 1.5 million rubles be transferred to him through an intermediarythe court added.

Upon receiving this bribe, Levchenko and Ipatko were detained by FSB officers, since the entrepreneur reported to the agency about the mayor’s illegal actions and then acted under the control of operative officers. At the hearing of the court of first instance, Ipatko did not admit guilt in committing the crimes charged against him, while Levchenko fully admitted his guilt (by the way, he was also severely punished — the court sentenced him to 7 years and 2 months of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 4 years) .

As for Ipatko, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea reviewed the case on appeal and left the verdict unchanged. It came into force.
