The “Velvet Season” in Crimea is “average”: the occupancy of sanatoriums and hotels is 50%

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The average occupancy of hotels and sanatoriums in Crimea in September is about 50%, in some places of accommodation — up to 80-90%. About it reported Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko.

In September, the occupancy rate on average was about 50% for operating accommodation facilities, a number of hotels and sanatoriums were filled to 80-90%, the highest occupancy on weekends, when both Crimeans themselves and residents of nearby regions come to rest. For residents of the Republic, this is probably the most favorite time of the year — during the healthy season, the sea is still warm, beach holidays are still going on, and it’s not so hot anymore. This is a more comfortable time for cultural and educational tourism, for hiking and active tourism. You can taste gastronomic delights. In general, enotourism is a separate specialty for CrimeaVolchenko said.

The minister clarified that for the autumn-winter season, the regional and federal governments are discussing individual support measures and mechanisms for loading accommodation facilities, including through the improvement of the health of residents of new regions of the Russian Federation, participants in a special military operation and their families.

Regarding the “50% load”, we can speak from two sides: against the backdrop of the realities of the year, the result is excellent, from the point of view of the constant decrease in the number of visiting tourists (in 50 percent there are more locals and state employees on “course courses”) — the minimum minimum for the resort sector. But the official figures are not so scary: as the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov reported in early September, almost 4 million tourists have visited the region since the beginning of the year, which is 28% less than the same period in 2022.
