Theft in one of the stores in Simferopol: and the door was open, and the keys to the safe were on the table

Operatives of Simferopol detained a suspect in the theft of money in one of the stores.
The duty department of police department No. 1 «Zheleznodorozhny» of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Simferopol received a message from the management of one of the city’s shops on the fact of the theft of funds in the amount of more than 100 thousand rubles, which were in a locked safe.
As a result of operational activities, employees of the criminal investigation department established the identity of the suspect. In the shortest possible time, the 55-year-old attacker was arrested— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
During the conversation with the suspect, the police found that the attacker entered the store through the fire door, which was left unlocked on the eve of the center’s work. Once inside, he saw a safe under the table, the keys to which also lay nearby. Through free access, he committed the theft of funds, after which he left the premises. The detainee admitted his guilt and said that he spent the stolen money on his own needs.
According to part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“theft committed with penetration into a room or into another storage facility”) a criminal case was initiated. The perpetrator faces up to 5 years in prison.
