The waste paper collection point on Lenin Street in the premises of the former “We Are Together” volunteer center, indicated on the federal “Uberu” recycling card, is not operating, notes «Sevastopol newspaper».
The regional garbage operator “Improvement of the city “Sevastopol”” advertises on social networks the federal “Uberu” card for collecting recyclables: 139 new collection points for old shoes have appeared there.
Uberu and the shoe company Ralf Ringer have added 139 shoe collection points in more than 50 cities in Russia. In total, the partners of the Russian environmental operator have marked 329 points on the Uber map where you can return old shoes and thereby reduce the generation of waste at municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills,” the regional operator notifies Sevastopol residents.
The message states that in addition to shoe collection points, Uber contains more than 65 thousand collection points for various types of recyclable materials, as well as a number of eco-activities for which you can receive ecoins and spend them in partner stores.
Where is the point in Sevastopol?
Since information about modern environmental-digital products is distributed by the “native garbage operator,” Sevastopolskaya Gazeta tried to find out how this applies to the city.
On the federal “Uberu” card, there is a collection point for recyclables in Sevastopol: on Lenin Street, 39. Since the pandemic, the “We Are Together” volunteer center has been located there. The telephone number and opening hours are indicated, as well as the type of waste accepted — waste paper.
As it turned out from the phone call, a year ago there was an All-Russian environmental campaign, which was limited to several days. That’s when waste paper was actually accepted at Lenin, 39. But that was a long time ago and on a temporary basis, volunteers explained to Sevastopolskaya Gazeta.
LLC Improvement of the City of Sevastopol has been a regional operator for the management of solid waste since 2017. Its main tasks include flow control and timely removal of solid municipal waste, stopping the formation of unauthorized landfills, extracting useful fractions from 100% of generated waste, environmentally friendly waste disposal, and the phased introduction of separate waste collection in the city.
