There are traffic jams in front of the Crimean bridge, trucks and buses at the Kerch ferry crossing

From early morning there were no traffic jams in front of the Crimean bridge. Not all motorists and tourists then learned that it was here at night launched reverse traffic in one lane. As you can imagine, only cars are allowed through. Actually, by 11 o’clock in the morning there were already quite a few of these same cars waiting for inspection.

There are 400 vehicles in line from Taman. Waiting time over an hour. There are 320 vehicles in line from Kerch. Waiting time over an hour informs Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Crimea.

The alternative… is also related to waiting. On land highways (through Dzhankoy, Armyansk, Perekop) there are also traffic jams. Here everything is «mixed» — trucks, buses, cars … The latter, by the way, should not try to go to Kerch for a ferry crossing.

The Kerch ferry service operates only for freight transport with priority types of goods — perishable foods, medicines, essential goods. Passengers of scheduled and sightseeing buses are also transported through the Kerch Strait. Passenger cars move along the Crimean bridge, one lane is open … Also, the movement of cars and trucks with non-priority cargo is currently still carried out along an alternative land route through new regions, through the checkpoints of Armyansk, Dzhankoy and Perekop— noted in the Ministry of Transport of the Crimea.

But back to the Crimean bridge. Transport moves slowly. Only one lane is open on the damaged section. There are speed limits. On average, the journey across the bridge takes more than an hour.

The movement is carried out in reverse mode on the extreme right lane of the Taman-Kerch direction, in a convoy of 40 to 50 cars. Traffic police officers organize the movement of columns for safe passage across the bridge— clarifies channel «Main bridge».

To go or not to go to the Crimea, the assessment of the need for such a trip is an individual matter. But since you have decided to go, be prepared for such objective difficulties associated with waiting for the passage (and think in advance about the traffic «from the Crimea» in August).
