There will be no separate group for Crimean football teams in FNL-2 (second league)
CrimeaPRESS reports:
But there will be more teams from Crimea in the 2024-25 season.
The leadership of the Football National League (FNL) does not see the need to create a separate group for Crimean teams in the Leon — Second League. About it TASS said FNL President Nail Izmailov.
Regarding the possible creation of a separate group for Crimean teams: if we look at the experience of last season, then the Crimean teams took part in subgroup 1.1, where the composition of the participants was as follows: Rubin Yalta, Sevastopol, SKA-Rostov, Kuban- Holding and Dynamo from Stavropol. Subgroup 1.2 was represented by the clubs “Alania-2”, “Dynamo Makhachkala-2”, “Legion”, “Druzhba”, “Spartak-Nalchik” and “Mashuk-KMV”. A logical question arises: what is the need if it already works?? – Izmailov noted.
According to him, in the new season, a separate group “South” may appear in the second league of the Russian championship, in which Crimean teams will compete. It is possible that the company of the Yalta and Sevastopol residents will be “Ocean” (Kerch) and “Kyzyltash” (Bakhchisarai).
On February 1, the press service of the Kerch “Ocean” published a message that if the appropriate decision is made by the authorized body, the club will be allowed to undergo the FNL certification procedure.
Let us recall that by decision of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Crimean clubs, after the reunification of Crimea with Russia, competed in the regional championship. The Crimean Football Union was established in July 2015, the creation of the organization took place with the support of UEFA. Since 2015, separate competitions have been organized for clubs on the peninsula under the auspices of the union.
