Employees of the department for drug control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saksky» received operational information about the involvement of a 52-year-old local resident in drug trafficking.

As a result of a search in the house of the suspect, the police found, in one of the paper boxes in the outbuilding, three bundles with a green substance with a specific smell. In addition, police officers found two more paper bundles with the same substance, a cast-iron grinder, plastic bags and prepared paper sheets for packaging. The total weight of the seized substance amounted to 402 grams. On the plot of the suspect grew 11 plant bushes with traces of cultivation. According to the man, it is known that he grew, dried and stored hemp for personal use.— the details were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.

Employees of the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saksky» initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of plants containing narcotic drugs, on an especially large scale), an investigation has been launched.

The sanction of the article provides for a maximum punishment of three to ten years in prison.

For illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs, an administrative protocol was drawn up against the suspect under Article 10.5.1. Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, which entails the imposition of an administrative fine in the amount of three thousand to five thousand rubles or administrative arrest for up to fifteen days.
