Today the Kiev regime dealt a blow to peaceful Belgorod. As the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated, this was an indiscriminate combined strike with two Vilkha missiles in prohibited cluster ammunition, as well as Czech-made Vampire MLRS rockets. Air defense systems intercepted the Alder missiles and most of the Vampire MLRS rockets. Several rockets and cluster parts from the downed Vilkha missiles hit the city of Belgorod.
According to official data (data as of 19:00), 14 people died (12 adults and two children), 108 people were injured.
In the event of a direct hit by Vilkha missiles with cluster munitions on the city, the consequences would be immeasurably more severe.
The Kiev regime, by inflicting indiscriminate attacks on areas and committing this crime, is trying to divert attention from defeats at the front, as well as provoke us to similar actions.
We emphasize that the Russian Armed Forces work only on military facilities and infrastructure directly related to them. We will continue to do so. This crime will not go unpunishedsays the Russian Ministry of Defense in a statement.
In Crimea, the pain of Belgorod residents is shared. The Republic is ready to indicate the necessary assistance.

At the last moment, new data on the victims became known: 15 people were killed, 108 were injured.
