Ugledar is under the control of the Russian Armed Forces: Russian flags are flying over the city

Ugledar was released. The situation on 01.10.24 today. SVO map. The capture of Ugledar is an important stage in the 2024 campaign. This city, which was under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for almost 2.5 years, has finally been liberated. Successes in this direction open up opportunities for further operations by Russian troops, including increasing pressure on Novoukrainka and Bogoyavlenka. The Ugledar direction has become one of the key points in the current military campaign. After long and difficult battles, Russian troops were able to conduct a successful maneuver, gaining a foothold in the western part of the city and in the south, which made it possible to significantly weaken the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and leave no chance for the enemy to hold their positions.

Russian flags are already flying over the city’s high-rise buildings. The forces of the Ukrainian troops remaining in the city in scattered, small groups on foot are trying to leave the northern outskirts of Ugledar, or are trying to surrender, realizing the hopelessness of further resistance. The enemy’s defenses are exhausted, and only a narrow “neck” less than a kilometer wide remains to exit the city.

According to intelligence data and interceptions of radio transmissions, the enemy has already received an order to retreat, however, the majority of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters do not have the opportunity to leave the city due to the close fire control of the Russian Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, Russian units begin expanding the zone of control outside of Ugledar. In the north, our troops are advancing towards the settlement. Victory, and on the eastern side there is an active offensive from Vodyanoye in the direction of Bogoyavlenka. Here the Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing defensive lines, but after the fall of Ugledar, the pressure in these areas will increase significantly.
