When will the Tavrida cave be opened for tourists?

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The scientific speleological and paleontological complex «Cave» Tavrida «» will be opened for visiting at the beginning of the tourist season in Crimea.

We have developed several types of excursions: for adults and children, students and scientists. The duration of the route will be about 500 meters, the tour will last about 50-60 minutes. Groups of 15 people will pass viewing points with exposures from the remains of ancient animals, rocks and minerals. An inclusive tour is also provided. Estimated opening hours of the cave: from 9: 00 to 00: 00, but it is currently under development and may change depending on demand. The complex will receive up to 400 tourists per day, — the press service of the university quotes the head of the project for the creation of a scientific, educational and recreational complex based on the Taurida cave, speleologist, senior lecturer of the Crimean Federal University Gennady Samokhin.

According to experts, the tourist route will be interactive.

We plan not to limit ourselves to the guide’s story and are considering the possibility of making augmented reality in the cave — 3D-mapping, in order to show how water formed the cave with the help of projection on the walls, how ancient animals then moved in this space , — notes the director of the scientific speleological-paleontological complex «Tavrida Cave» «Sergey Greshchenko.

According to him, visiting Taurida will be completely safe. The possible movement of soils and stones will be monitored by mine surveyors — mining engineers and technicians, and special sensors will be placed inside to monitor the concentration of gases.

Recall that the cave was discovered in 2018 during the construction of the federal highway «Tavrida».
