Sberbank will open the first branches in the Crimea — in major cities. Namely: in Simferopol, Sevastopol and Yalta. This was announced by Konstantin Bakharev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market.
The first client branches will open in Simferopol, Sevastopol and Yalta in the coming months. In the future, it is planned to expand the branch network , — Bakharev is quoted by RIA Novosti Crimea .
He noted that together with the flagship of the country’s banking sector, the most modern services and technologies will come to the region, which will stimulate increased competition in the local financial services market.
In turn, Elena Vershitskaya, Associate Professor of the Department of State and Municipal Administration of the Institute of Economics and Management of KFU, assured that the significance of the event is much wider than «only expanding the range of banking services for the population and business«. In her opinion, this is a signal for large retail chains and companies providing various types of services that the region is “open”, and its market is promising for the development of companies in various fields of activity.
Recall that on Wednesday January it became known that Sberbank “enters” Crimea. According to the authorities, the arrival of such a “major player” will further improve the availability, speed and quality of banking services for the population.
