A meeting of the municipal commission for emergency prevention and response was held in the administration of Simferopol. The reason is worsening weather conditions on January 20. Black ice, increased southwest winds changing to northeast winds, and a drop in air temperature are expected.

About the measures that have been taken.

The Department of Municipal Economy of the Administration of Simferopol and the Municipal Budgetary Institution “City” were given the following instructions:

— organize monitoring of sections of highways prone to the formation of snow deposits (drifts);
— organize a check of the readiness of subordinate emergency response teams and utility services to respond to possible accidents at life support facilities;
— ensure the readiness of snow removal and specialized equipment involved in cleaning and sprinkling roads;
— provide a reserve of equipment and fuels and lubricants for eliminating the consequences of traffic jams, removing snow and sprinkling the road network.

To the heads of the municipal unitary enterprise «Kievsky Zhilservice», «Zheleznodorozhny Zhilservis», «Central Zhilservice», «Avangrad», as well as the municipal budgetary institutions «City», «Gorsvet», «Gorzelenkhoz», the Simferopol branch of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea «Water of Crimea», the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Krymmeliovodkhoz» , the Simferopol Department for the Operation of Gas Equipment of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea “Krymgazseti”, the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea “Krymteplokomunenergo”, the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea “Krymtrolleybus”, the Simferopol City District of Electric Networks were instructed to transfer forces and means to a high readiness mode, as well as to maintain ready vehicles, equipment, involved in the elimination of possible emergency situations associated with flooding and cutting, cleaning of emergency trees and heavy snow deposition.

Managers of resource supply organizations should ensure the readiness of forces and means to respond to situations arising in their subordinate supply networks.

To managers of socially significant facilities:

— ensure readiness for the use of available backup power sources through practical launch and ensuring their functioning;
— ensure the supply of fuels and lubricants necessary for the uninterrupted operation of autonomous backup power supplies (ARIP).
The MKU Education Department of the city administration has given orders to inspect temporary accommodation centers and ensure their timely readiness.
The MKU Department of Transport and Communications of the Administration of Simferopol has been given the following instructions:
— if necessary, organize the involvement of forces and means involved in the evacuation of citizens from sections of highways prone to the formation of snow drifts.
