World Immunization Week has started in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
World Immunization Week events are being held in Crimea to raise people’s awareness of the importance of vaccination.
From April 22 to April 30, 2024, the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention” operates a hotline on current immunization issues. Calls are accepted at +7 (978) 557-04-85 from 09:00 to 16:00.
Let us remember that vaccination can significantly reduce the risk of developing an infectious disease, and if a person does become infected with the virus, the disease will proceed in a milder form without complications that are life-threatening.
As part of the national calendar of preventive vaccinations, children and adults are vaccinated against the following infections:
- tuberculosis (on the 3rd day of life with revaccination at 7 years if necessary);
- hepatitis B (vaccination is carried out on the first day of life, at 1 month and at 6 months);
- whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus (vaccination is carried out at 3,4,5,6 months, revaccination at 18 months, 6 years, 14 years, then once every 10 years);
- polio (vaccination is carried out at 3,4,5,6 months, revaccination at 18 and 20 months, 6 years);
- hemophilus influenzae infection (vaccination is carried out at 3,4,5,6 months, revaccination at 18 months);
- pneumococcal infection (vaccination at 2 and 4.5 months, revaccination at 15 months);
- measles, rubella, mumps (vaccination at 1 year, revaccination at 6 years).
As part of the national calendar of preventive vaccinations, adults (not previously vaccinated, do not have vaccination records, have not been ill) are vaccinated against measles (all under 35 years of age, at risk group at the age of 36-55 years), against rubella up to 25 years of age, girls (over 35 years of age — when planning pregnancy according to indications), hepatitis B, diphtheria/tetanus. Every year, adults and children are vaccinated against influenza— reported the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea.
As part of the calendar of preventive vaccinations for epidemic indications, children and adults from risk groups receive vaccinations against the following infections: leptospirosis, anthrax, tularemia, tick-borne encephalitis, hepatitis A, dysentery, chickenpox, meningococcal infection, pneumococcal infection for children over 5 years of age and adults , rabies.
