Yalta investigators landscaped the park near the monument to innocent dead citizens in the village of Otradnoye
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On the eve of Victory Day, officers of the Main Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, according to tradition, continue to landscape the graves of Red Army soldiers and memorials dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War.
The head of the investigation department for the city of Yalta, Maxim Bogdanovich, together with his staff, organized a cleanup day at the memorial sign at the site of the mass death of residents in the village of Otradnoye.
In December 1941, the Nazi invaders attacked Yalta. More than 2 thousand people living in the Jewish quarter were taken to the village of Otradnoye and shot.
At the site of the mass execution of Yalta residents in 1957, a memorial sign was erected; it is a low stele on a three-step pedestal with a memorial plaque on which the names of the victims are inscribed.
The officers put the monument itself and the area around it in order, honoring the memory of the Yalta residents innocently killed by the Nazis with a minute of silence.
