The evidence collected by the Russian Investigative Committee was found by the court to be sufficient to convict a resident of Simferopol. A Crimean citizen was found guilty of violating traffic rules, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence (Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
An investigator from the Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases and the court established that on the afternoon of June 26, 2022, a young man driving a BMW X5 M car that belonged to him was moving along the A-291 highway. At this time, on a section of the road in the Belogorsk region, a Renault Sandero and a Nissan car were reporting a minor accident. The driver of a BMW X5 M collided with a Renault Sandero parked in the left lane, which resulted in compression of its body. Afterwards, due to the force of the impact, the Renault collided with a Kamaz car with a semi-trailer moving in the same direction.
As a result of a traffic accident, the 43-year-old driver of the Renault Sandero and his 42-year-old wife died at the scene. Their 15-year-old daughter was taken to a medical facility, where she died soon after.,” the Sledkom recalled the circumstances of the accident.

It is emphasized that during the investigation a significant amount of work was carried out, automotive and forensic examinations were carried out, and direct witnesses to the accident were identified. It was also established that the defendant had previously been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for speeding.
During the court hearing, the accused fully admitted his guilt, repented and apologized to the injured party.
By a court verdict, he was found guilty of the crime charged and sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment to be served in a penal colony with a further restriction of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 3 years. The court’s verdict did not enter into legal force.
