CrimeaPRESS reports:
It was established that a 75-year-old elderly man, having limited health capabilities, gave his bank card to a 49-year-old friend and entrusted him with making the purchases he needed.
This became known to an acquaintance of the pensioner’s assistant — a 41-year-old local resident with an antisocial behavior. He waylaid the client, beat him, secretly stole someone else’s bank card from him and used it to pay for purchases in stores totaling more than 17 thousand rubles. As a result of operational search activities, employees of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs in the Balaklava region detained a suspect,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”. He faces up to six years in prison. In addition, an investigation into the fact of beating the detainee is being carried out, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made.
